President’s Message

Hello Fellow members. I have just spent some time reading through old CCDA newsletters going back through January of 2000. We have experienced many challenges and many rewarding times in the past few years. The past two years have been especially challenging for the Board of CCDA. As many of you know, our Past-President, Rochelle McCready has been battling cancer. She is a very brave lady, and is fighting it with all of her energy. The President before Rochelle, Mary Robins, lost her brother in a tragic automobile accident during her presidency. Rochelle and Mary have strong spirits, and are moving through these experiences.

As a result of these past events, I am moving into the role as President after a period where there was less than usual Board activity and membership correspondence. I want to assure you that we have a dedicated Board for 2007-2008, ready and able to lead us forward. We are on sound financial footing, and are planning an especially exciting ICDC Conference this November in Sacramento. Our regional activities are in full swing, with the possibility of another new chapter being formed in the near future.

We would very much appreciate your feedback at this time. We want to know about what you would like to see developed this year, and learn of your concerns and interests. As a Board, we hope you will decide to get involved and enjoy the rewards of membership. This is an opportunity to make your voice heard, as we learn and grow together.
