Membership Benefits & Services

CCDA Members receive:

  • affiliation with the largest community of career development professionals and paraprofessionals in the state.
  • reduced registration rates to the International Career Development Conference/California Career Conference (formerly the California Career Conference), the California Counseling Association Convention, and other regional workshops.
  • reduced or waived fees to all CCDA regional Chapter events, featuring workshops on the latest career development techniques, resources, information, and assessments, as well as providing a local venue for professional affiliation.
  • Continuing Educational Units (CEUs) through many CCDA-sponsored conferences and events.
  • the CCDA News quarterly newsletter, the main communication vehicle for career development information in the state.
  • access to the lowest professional liability insurance rates available to California career development practitioners.
  • the CCDA Membership Directory, a resource of all members of the organization, listed both by geographic location and work setting.
  • the CCA Compass newsletter and the CCA Journal.

CCDA also:

  • co-sponsors the International Career Development Conference/California Career Conference, the largest conference of its kind in the world.
  • sponsors regional Chapters and Chapter events throughout the state.
  • monitors public policy and acts on behalf of the membership on legislative issues.
  • maintains this website for the dissemination of career-related information.
  • funds research minigrants, project development minigrants, and graduate student scholarships to the International Career Development Conference/California Career Conference.
  • sends delegates to the National Career Development Association Convention to represent California career development service providers on policy issue votes.
  • sponsors the California Registry of Professional Counselors and Paraprofessionals (CRPCC), a designation which identifies practitioners who meet certain defined standards and have voluntarily sought and obtained Registry status.
  • maintains active involvement with the California Coalition for Counselor Licensure.

Levels of Membership

Regular – Counselors, counselor supervisors, counselor administrators, counselor educators and others who hold at least a Bachelor’s degree and are employed in the area of career development.

Associate – Individuals interested in career development but not specifically employed in that area. Such members might include teachers, administrators, training and development specialists and paraprofessionals.

Student – Full-time students involved in a graduate program. Persons employed full-time in any CCA related profession do not qualify for graduate student status. Graduate student status is limited to five years from initial date of membership.

Emeritus
– Those retired from active employment.

Membership in CCDA also includes membership in the
California Counseling Association

If you have not done so in a while, please take a moment to update your CCDA record with your current professional profile and contact info. While you will not see the changes live online for several more weeks (just one of the exciting projects we are working on), you will be helping us keep our records up to date so that when the new dynamic database is available, it will be just as you like it!
